Education and Technology

Center for Emerging Technologies
The Center for Emerging Technologies is a not-for-profit entity organized in 1995 to develop specialized services and facilities that accelerate growth of advanced technology companies.  The mission of the Center is to position the St. Louis region as a worldwide center of advanced technology industries and knowledge-based economic development.

St. Louis Public Schools Foundation
The St. Louis Public Schools Foundation seeks to fund projects and activities with a measurable impact on academic achievement, high school graduation rates, and the successful transition to post-secondary goals, such as college or entry into the workforce to ensure that each student has the opportunity to become a productive citizen.

Public Policy and Government

East-West Gateway Coordinating Council
East-West Gateway Coordinating Council is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and Regional Council of Governments for the St. Louis region. The Council provides a forum for cooperative problem-solving and the coordinated development of regional policy. A number of standing and ad hoc advisory committees help inform the dialogue and decision-making process. Some of the issues the Council addresses are transportation, environmental quality, economic and workforce development, and local government services.

RegionWise
The RegionWise mission is to use evidence-based approaches to promote regional improvement. RegionWise envisions a vital St. Louis metropolitan area where the possibilities for all people are maximized through the power of knowledge-sharing, engagement, and monitoring the state of the region. RegionWise serves the people of the St. Louis region by building a clearinghouse of regional information, measuring regional progress, and collaborating with other organizations to promote public involvement in regional policy discussion and action.

Regional Resources

Community Connection
Community Connection is a statewide database of community resources on the World Wide Web. A free public service, it provides an easily searched, central source for information about a wide variety of resources available to Missourians. The purpose of Community Connection is to build capacity-of individuals, organizations, and communities. It does this by 1) improving access to community services and resources; 2) helping community resources reach people 3) enhancing information sharing, referral, and collaboration among community agencies and resources.4) providing information that helps make informed decisions.

St. Louis Community Information Network
The mission of the St. Louis Community Information Network (CIN) is to provide a forum for the exchange of information between the citizens of St. Louis, neighborhood organizations, city government, businesses, and the rest of the world.

Revitalization and Development

Downtown Saint Louis Partnership, Inc.
The Downtown Saint Louis Partnership, Inc. is a private sector non-profit downtown management and development corporation representing the business and property owners in downtown St. Louis. Its mission is to increase the economic viability and the attractiveness of the downtown community as a place to live, work, play, shop and visit.

Focus St. Louis
FOCUS St. Louis is an independent, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help transform the St. Louis region by developing citizen leaders, stimulating citizen involvement, and mobilizing diverse interests to act regionally on critical issues.

Metropolis St. Louis
St. Louis has the potential to become a great city for young people. This belief inspired 45 St. Louisans in their 20s and 30s to found Metropolis Saint Louis in May, 1997. Now 616 strong, Metropolis is pursuing this vision, taking concrete steps to revitalize St. Louis. Our Mission: To create and promote an environment in the City of St. Louis that attracts and retains young people.

St. Louis Development Corporation
St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) is an umbrella, not-for-profit corporation organized under Chapter 355 of the Missouri State Code with the mission of fostering economic development and growth in the City through increased job and business opportunities and expansion of the City's tax base.

St. Louis Regional Commerce and Growth Association
RCGA is the chamber of commerce and economic development organization for the Greater St. Louis region which includes St. Louis City; the Missouri counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, Franklin, and Jefferson; and the Illinois counties of St. Clair, Jersey, Madison, Clinton and Monroe. With approximately 4,000-member companies, RCGA represents 40% of the regional work force.

Volunteering and Community Service

St. Louis Cares
St. Louis Cares is a nonprofit entity established to help strengthen the community through volunteering . St. Louis Cares has been designed to make volunteering easy. St. Louis Cares handles the logistics and much of the scheduling and legwork to identify volunteer opportunities. St. Louis Cares provides a communications link between those who want to volunteer and the organizations that need assistance.

United Way of Greater St. Louis
The United Way of Greater St. Louis unites people of diverse backgrounds and interests who work together to strengthen health and human services in Missouri and Illinois.

The United Way efficiently raises and allocates funds to support a strong network of quality agencies and services; provides information, management and technical resources; identifies critical issues and unmet needs; and builds collaborations with the public and private sectors to meet those needs.

Youth Services

Vision for Children at Risk
The mission of Vision for Children at Risk (VCR) is to promote the well-being of children and youth in the St. Louis metropolitan area, targeting particularly those young people who face serious socio-economic risk. The goal of VCR is to ensure the St. Louis community makes more effective, systematic provision for meeting the fundamental needs of all area children.
