Mission Statement
Provide emotional support, compassion, advocacy, counseling, information and referral to sexual assault survivors in the immediate aftermath of the crime--thereby assisting the recovery process--regardless of race, religion, gender or income level. We also provide therapy services at no cost to victims of rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse.
Volunteer Opportunities
The YWCA St. Louis Regional Sexual Assault Center is looking for volunteers to join the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). SART provides immediate, in person, 24-hour crisis intervention to survivors of sexual assault at participating hospitals in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
Pre-Requisites
In preparation for their work, volunteers participate in a 40-hour training over a six-week period. Volunteers must be at least 20-years of age, and have transportation to all participating hospitals.
