Name of Organization
Mission Statement	Just as the Peace Corps is Americans in service to the world, AmeriCorps is Americans in service to each other. Compassion, teamwork, and responsibility are the cords that bind us together as a democratic society. Citizens from all walks of life devote a year to meeting critical needs in education and communities struck by disaster. By building passionate leaders, we get things done for St. Louis and the nation.

Volunteer Opportunities	Elementary School Volunteer: Commit at least two hours per week to assist teachers with classroom activities, engage students in class assignments, tutor students grades K-5 in literacy. <br>Middle School Volunteer: Commit at least 2 hours per week to mentor students grades 6-8 in the areas of personal responsibility and citizenship, assist students with assignments, be a positive role model.</br> <br>After-school Assistants: Volunteers give at least two hours a week to assist with an AmeriCorps after-school program. Activities could include homework assistance, assisting with clubs, or coaching a sports team. This can also be an opportunity for you to let your inner teacher shine -- lead a group of students in an activity that you design!</br> <br>All of these volunteer opportunities will take place within the 8 inner-city public schools where our AmeriCorps members currently serve. Volunteers have the option of continuing in the summer, and of becoming CPR/First Aid certified. </br>
Prerequisites	Must be 16 years of age to volunteer in elementary schools and 18 years of age to volunteer in middle schools. All volunteers over age 18 must pass a DFS child abuse/neglect background check.
