Service First Logo

Founded in 1999, Service First provides an opportunity for new students to volunteer in St. Louis and to identify ways to stay involved in the community throughout the year. Held every year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, over 1000 students, staff, and faculty volunteer with the St. Louis Public Schools to help brighten schools for the children. At the conclusion of Service First, a community service fair is offered on the South 40, featuring student-run community service groups.

Save the Date!
Service First will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008.

Sponsors
Service First is funded in part by a grant from the Women’s Society of Washington University. The event would not be possible with the support and collaboration of the St. Louis Public Schools. Additionally, numerous businesses and organizations lend their generous financial support to help make Service First a success.

I feel that to be actually living in St. Louis I have to be reaching out to people; we must learn to excel vertically in our studies and horizontally through our experiences to the degree that our potential allows."
