Group Description
Green Action is a student organization that focuses on the environmental sustainability of the Washington University community. The group is a forum for discussing concerns with University practices, putting forward ideas for positive change, and working with students and faculty to develop solutions that can be implemented. Green Action also provides the student body with information regarding the recycling system, the mug program, the Green Action Recommended products at the Campus Bookstore, and other ways to live sustainably on campus.
Special Events
Fall:

**America Recycles Day Electronics Recycling Drive**
Nov. 15th, All day
Partnering with the local nonprofit electronics recycler WITS, we will be hosting our 3rd annual ARD drive to collect used electronics to be recycled. Members of the university and surrounding community are all welcomed!

7th Hour
Every year, Green Action hosts a panel discussion on a current environmental issue featuring professors and experts in relevant fields. Past topics have included sustainable food production, global warming, and the interaction of business and the environment.

Recycle Mania
10-week recycling competition among US universities

Earth Day

ReFocus the Nation
A Nationwide teach-in devoted to creating awareness on a variety of topics and looking ahead to solutions in our state, country, and world

Green Thurtene
Operate recycling at Thurtene Carnival, promote recycling of set-building materials, encourage sustainable practices in fraternities, sororities, & & the community.
